200 Homes in Somerset Left Without Gas Supply

Third party contractors were working in Somerset when they caused a gas leakage. As a result, 200 homes in Hatch Beauchamp were affected.

The leakage occurred on Wednesday, October 31.

West & West Utilities staff had to visit every affected home to repair the damage.

Regarding the incident, West & West Utilities South West England Area Engineering Manager, Darryl Goddard, said: “We now have to visit all homes in the area to turn their gas supplies off so we can repair the damage and safely turn the gas back on. We do not yet know how long this will take, but our engineers will be working around the clock to resolve this issue as safely and as quickly as possible.”

The situation has been resolved, and the homes have their gas supplies again.
