In a campaign to find missing persons in time for Christmas, Deliveroo riders in Bristol will display the posters on their backpacks during their deliveries. Around five hundred riders across the country will show the missing persons posters in collaboration with the charity, Missing People.
Deliveroo, a food delivery app, will also launch a fundraising feature on their app, called Ride to Find, giving customers the opportunity to donate to the charity via the app.
Will Shu, chief executive at Deliveroo, mentions that his organisation “wanted to help.” He said, “Our riders are at the heart of our business and are seen by communities up and down the country as they travel our streets to deliver food, so it’s amazing that our network of riders has volunteered to use our recognisable backpacks to create mobile billboards in support of such an important cause.”
The company hopes that over the holidays, the Ride to Find campaign will help bring missing people home to their friends and families. It also hopes to create awareness and raise funds for the Missing People charity.
Founded in 1993, Missing People is a national charity that offers assistance to people who run away and/or go missing and their families.
