A chic café and bar in the Cotswolds, located in a village on the site of the former Central Flying School, Upper Rissington, has been put on the market by owners as they have other engaging responsibilities in some other place.
The Hanger is located in a small parade of shops which is pretty much the hub of the community.
The café, which serves breakfast, coffees, snacks, and has a licence to sell alcohol was created in 2016 and named after the nearby historic airfields, when the owners equipped a bare unit with sophisticated furnishings, lighting, and seating.
The café provides 30 covers with a full capacity of 75.
The Hanger is on the market, at £35, 000 for the leasehold, with Colliers International. It is eight miles from Burford, three from the Bourton-on-the-Water, and five from the Stow-on-the-World.
According to Peter Brunt, hotels director of Collier International, their clients in 2016 took on a new lease and fitted out the empty unit, thus creating the welcoming environment as it stands today. The owners have many businesses around Bourton-on-the-Water that need to be managed. As a result, they have decided to give a new owner the opportunity to build upon the fine reputation they have created.
Peter Brunt also added that it is a good thing to know that the younger generation has a location aimed at welcoming them. People under the age of 18 make up an estimated 30% of the community’s population.
