A well-known and highly patronized pub in the heart of Exmouth called The Holly Tree has just been sold. Property specialists, Stonesmith, handled the sale.
The Holly Tree is located on Withycombe Village Road in a residential suburb of the East Devon coastal resort town. It has been the ideal meeting place for quite a number of groups and societies, including five dart teams and a pool team. The pub also hosts a popular weekly quiz night. Brimming with entertaining activities coupled with the provision of quality cask conditioned ales adds to the reason why the community fancies it.
Nigel and Katrina McLean paid the asking price of £79,950 to secure the business. The director of Stonesmith, Mike Phillips said,
“The sale of The Holly Tree follows on from the sale by Stonesmith of The Country House Inn in Exmouth in the summer.
“The sales confirm that there is still demand for both tied and free of tie pubs throughout the West country.”
The pub features a large open bar area, snug bar, kitchen, a dining room, function room, five bedroom owner’s accommodation, a large car park, lawned trade beer garden and patio areas.
Exmouth town is a dormitory town for Exeter, it has a population of more than 35,000 people, and is widely known for being a top tourist destination. The town is also on the Jurassic Coast, which was recently designated World Heritage Site.
