Riding the wave of the increasing economy of both Swindon and Wiltshire, the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership or SWLEP, developed their own innovative efforts to further grow the local energy industry. The SWLEP made use of various sources in order to do an analysis on the industry with a heavy emphasis on hydrogen technology. With their efforts, they plan on diversifying the sector and further contribute to the growth of the local economy.
Specifically, the effort targets the creation of new energy that is cleaner than the usual carbon-based energy of fuel. That way, both regions will have a robust energy sector and a more eco-friendly environment. In a way, it targets both growth and overall welfare of the locals.
What they are trying to achieve is in line with the newer alternatives to the usual fuel based vehicles. They want to respond to the growing demand for alternative energy vehicles that belong to the low carbon sector. The team behind the effort has a strong background in the automotive sector, making them the best candidates for alternative energy fuels for new energy vehicles. Along with partners from engineering backgrounds, tech backgrounds, and manufacturing backgrounds in the area, both Wiltshire and Swindon are the perfect hubs for such research and development.
To further complement this, Swindon happens to be the only city near London that has two Hydrogen Refuelling Stations. Since the effort will be researching hydrogen energy, these two refuelling stations will be ideal for it.
Aside from the SWLEP, more than 50 organizations are also doing their efforts to boost the new energy vehicle sector. One of them is Hydrogen Hub which is an organization aimed to encourage hydrogen application usage, especially in vehicles.
With this kind of vast support, it is definitely possible to grow the local economy through growing the new energy vehicle sector.
