Devon offers 11 great places for a traditional Sunday roast

The Sunday roast is almost as old as England and a prominent part of the traditional British culture. It can be had as lunch or dinner, in a classy restaurant or corner-side pub, in winter or in summer.

There are quite a number of places to “get your roast on” in Devon, however to ensure that you get your money’s worth, we recommend that you try these eleven pubs and restaurants. These outlets have also been verified by many guests on TripAdvisor and have top notch ratings.

Dog owners would love The Ring of Bells in Cheriton Fitzpane as it is a dog-friendly pub. It also received a number of awards in the past year, including a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

The Flintlock Inn is located in Marsh, near Honiton and a lot of the reviews tell of its reasonable pricing.

Wesley on TripAdvisor had this to say about The Bridford Inn; “we have visited every pub in Exeter and surrounding over the past few years for roast dinner. This was quite simply the best.”

Cosy and rustic are two words that describe Fredericks. Located in Torquay, it has a rating of 84% on the TripAdvisor site.

After visiting The Manor Inn in Exter, Laws507, said: “Had such a lovely Sunday lunch, food was cooked to perfection, fresh and hot and very tasty!”

Sunday Lunch at the restaurant in Orestone Manor may not be the cheapest but the surroundings of the exquisite hotel provide an ambience that keep many guests coming back.
