First Phase Work on £7.4 Million Business Work Space Project Has Begun

Developments (Redruth) Ltd is spearheading the construction of new workspaces for small and medium sized businesses (SME) in West Cornwall.

The £7.46 million project will provide 14 new hybrid industrial units and 14 small office suites in the Hallenbeagle Trading Estate development on the Cornwall Business Park West site at Scorrier.

JAD has gotten £3.47m from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Programme.

The buildings will meet a set of building regulations to ensure the development is sustainable.

Cornwall based Business Location Services Ltd (BLS) will support the development. Classic builders will be working with JAD.

Russell Dodge, the managing director of BLS said, “We are delighted to have secured the EU funding to deliver the first phase of the speculative units on the Cornwall Business Park and are fully committed to providing the investment in high-quality employment space, which the West Cornwall area desperately needs.”

Sam Lockyer, Area Manager of Classic Builders, said, “It’s great to be working with local forward-thinking stakeholders such as JAD Developments to deliver high-quality new workspaces.

“This project is a clear statement of confidence in Cornwall and supporting local business owners.

“Classic Builders has grown significantly in recent years, we understand the benefits such buildings provide small businesses and the positive economic impact projects such as this have on the wider community.”

The workspace will be on lease when the job is completed by June 2019.
