Heating System Failure Leads to Closure of Gloucester School

Finlay Community School on Finlay Road in Gloucester and its pre-school on Abbeydale site will be closed down for the rest of today after the central heating system has shut down.

According to the school receptionist, the problem was discovered yesterday and actions were taken to fix it. However, the engineers were unable to fix the problem at the time. All activities in the school will have to be put on hold today until the heating system is repaired.

The school authorities and staff of Finlay Community School have had to close the school to the two hundred and eighty (280) pupils who attend today. It is a situation that’s out of their hands as the central heating system shutting down came as a result of the temperatures having dropped to below freezing overnight with the mercury struggling to hit 10 degrees again today.

They also added that they hoped Finlay Community School and pre-school would re-open tomorrow.
