Fat Toni’s Set to Return to Gloucester and Explains Their Reason for Leaving

Fat Toni’s (Toni) was located on St. Aldate Street, Gloucester until November 2018 when it suddenly closed, disappointing pizza fans looking for a delicious pizza in the area.

Thankfully, this closure is not for forever.

Jason Orsi, the director, comments, “We’ve got a lot of customers thinking that we’re closing for good, but that’s definitely not happening. We will be opening, 100 percent, regardless of what happens.”

Management says that it would not be long for the restaurant to be back in the city. The director says that they have found a new location somewhere closer to their “bigger pool of customers.”

Explaining their reason for leaving, Orsi says, “[St Aldate Street] wasn’t the best location for us at the moment. We’ve got a new site which we’re not going to mention until we’ve signed the contract. It’s part of an agreement with the landlord and is subject to planning permission. It was the right time for use to close the Gloucester branch. Business was good but the location wasn’t where our customers are, and the new location is closer to our bigger pool of customers.”

Keeping quiet for now about the future, he promises that more news will be incoming in the following weeks.

Though there is still “quite a bit of work to do” on the new location, the new store could be open for pizza lovers by early February.
