Wiltshire Police in Marlborough and Aldbourne take proactive action with arrests (including one over an imitation firearm)

Most people believe in the saying “prevention is better than cure”. Yesterday, the Wiltshire police officers in Marlborough under Wiltshire Police’s Team 5 took the initiative to prevent crime rather than solve it.

The team arrested two men yesterday and filed a case against them because of their possession of deadly weapons, with one of the suspects in possession of a fake firearm. Fake weapons such as fake guns are considered illegal in most countries and states since these weapons can be used to threaten the community, and criminals may use these to commit heinous crimes.

Another man was arrested by Aldbourne police on January 10 due to possession of cannabis and drug driving. Drivers get arrested not only because of driving under the influence of alcohol but also when they are intoxicated with drugs in their system. When people are high on drugs, their rational thinking is impaired, thus putting not only their lives but also the lives of the people around at stake.

The police are encouraging the public to keep a keen eye at their surroundings and urging them to call hotline numbers right away if they notice anything suspicious or dangerous. They can call the hotline numbers 101 for non-emergencies and 999 for emergencies.
