One lane closed in A417 at Cricket Hill when a van landed on a ditch around 3 o’clock in the afternoon near Air Balloon roundabout.
The van was said to be coming from Cirencester and was careering up across the road and ended up landing in the ditch. Motorists travelling through A417 were to expect major road jam and are advised to take a different road until the van is removed from the ditch where it landed. Officers from the Gloucestershire Constabulary were called upon the accident scene and reported that the smash only involved one vehicle. The officers came in around 3:45 PM and an ambulance followed shortly. No injuries or deaths were reported so far in this road accident. The driver of the van has been reported as safe from the crash, though he might be facing charges on road traffic violations causing the traffic jam at Cricket Hill.
A spokesperson from the police force had said that things would have turned out differently, but they were glad that the road traffic collision was not severe and was thankful about it.
Gloucestershire Police’s Force Control Room tweeted about the road accident and stated that traffic in A417 will be expected to be slower than normal. The said road traffic collision involved one vehicle, which is the van, and that it had come from the Air Balloon roundabout going to Cirencester. They have also reported that they were continuing to get the road traffic situation fixed as soon as possible. More updates from the Force Control Room regarding traffic and road updates will be posted through their Twitter account @GlosPolice_FCR.
Motorists were given alternate routes to use while the lane is currently closed due to the crash. Road traffic authorities continue to recover the vehicle and sorted out the traffic lanes to return back to its normal flow.
