The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now back in London to resume their official duties after spending Christmas and New Year in the northwest of England. Kensington Palace reveals that some of the duties they are going to attend on their return includes a plaque unveiling at Hamilton Square, meeting with veterans, and a visit to various organizations.

Meghan and Harry have been carrying on a lot of engagements so far. 289 engagements were clocked up by the couple last year in the UK and overseas. Plans for their royal tour to US and Canada this autumn are already laid out. Meghan has been assigning her aides to write up on her diary with regard to her pregnancy up to the birth of the royal couple’s firstborn.  The couple is expecting to have their baby this spring, but royal insiders and enthusiasts are guessing that it will be a late March or early April baby.

Her Majesty, the Queen, has the Duchess of Sussex to succeed in her role as the Royal Patron of the National Theatre. Being a former actress and an undergraduate of theatre studies at Northwestern, Meghan’s acquisition of the patronage will surely bring her closer to home. Also, this act of Her Majesty shows that she has faith in the Duchess to fulfill the role. As patron of the National Theatre, she will also be involved with the American Associates of the National Theatre, an association that contributes £3 million to its budget.

Lately, the Duchess has attended unannounced at the British Fashion Awards, where she gave an award to Clare Waight Keller, Meghan’s royal wedding dress designer. This has the Queen disappointed with the breach of protocols by the Duchess, and that the event was too celebrity-focused. The footage went viral but was taken down quickly.
