The man who died on A456 Bewdley Pass was identified as John Slatter, an 85-year-old driver who died on a car crash near West Midland Safari on Christmas Eve at around 10 AM.
Slatter suffered major injuries on the incident and he, with the rest of the road traffic collision victims, was rushed to Worcester Hospital but died shortly on Christmas Day. Slatter was the passenger of the Volkswagen Golf who got involved in the fatal collision along with a silver Honda Civic. PC Emma Breay has reported that two more victims include a gentleman in his 20’s who got injuries, including a broken leg and a lady in her 50’s who suffered several injuries and bruises and was up for scan in the hospital to check if there were internal injuries obtained from the road accident. Other victims of this accident only suffered non-critical injuries.
Police are currently appealing for re-information on this road accident. The road was closed for police investigation and police officers are looking for witnesses of the said road traffic collision to gather more information as to what really happened before and during the said accident. It is critical to obtain this information to provide justice to those who were victims of this road traffic collision and to give more answers on how and why the accident happened. Anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident may provide a copy of video footage to the mentioned police authorities so as to shed light on the causes of the fatal road collision. The investigation is still ongoing, but the roads are now currently open for use.
