Wiltshire Treehouse charity welcomes £4,000 donation from Midcounties Co-operative

The Midcounties Co-operative has raised £4,000 for Wiltshire Treehouse, a charity that provides bereavement support to children and young people. The charity is the co-operative’s charity partner in Swindon and provides peer support group assistance and workshop for children and young individuals who have lost someone close to them.

The organisation raised the funds through a number of fundraising activities it held throughout the year.

According to Sue Ward, chair of trustees at Wiltshire Treehouse, “It can be incredibly difficult for young people to process their emotions after losing a loved one. The support of The Midcounties Co-operative is so important, allowing us to continue the vital work we do with families, and to raise our profile so more people can reach out to us.

“We would love to expand our range of corporate partners, and ask Swindon businesses to please get in touch if they are willing to help in this way.

“We’re very grateful to The Midcounties Co-operative and their fundraising efforts. Thanks to their generous donation, we will be able to support more people in the area.”

On his part, Dean Mason, a leadership team ambassador in Wiltshire at The Midcounties Co-operative, said: “Since January, local colleagues have worked tirelessly to help support our partnerships with these charities.

“All of the groups we’ve supported play a pivotal role within the community, supporting those who need it most, and we look forward to continuing our work with them and other similar groups through our charity partnership scheme.”
