Devon and Cornwall Police have started recruitment for new officers. On Monday, the police opened application to prospective applicants who want a career in the force and said it will close the process midnight on Monday, November 12.
The starting salary is listed as £20,370 or £23,586 for serving PCSOs or Specials. Applicants who pass the process and are employed will be entitled to a police pension and childcare vouchers where applicable.
Only those who are aged 18 or over by Friday December 14 and whose educational qualification is equivalent to A Level are eligible to apply. Applicants are expected to hold a full manual EU driving license.
Members of the National Front or Combat 18, British National Party and those with tattoos on their faces, neck and hands or which could cause offence are advised not to apply.
Applicants who are foreign nationals or commonwealth citizens are expected to have a leave to remain or a leave to enter the UK for an indefinite period.
Applicants must have resided in the UK for three continuous years immediately prior to application.

- 20 minute competency based interview
- Two written exercises
- Four role play exercises
