There are several interesting courses in South Devon College for adults to join across the South West, whether one is seeking for secure paid employment, discovering something new, going to university, advancing or changing one’s career.
A part of an innovative national scheme (The Career Learning Pilot Project) aimed at assisting adults to up-skill in Torbay and Plymouth, South Devon College provides a mixed variety of courses in its nine campuses within Torbay and the surrounding areas.
The project brings possibilities for adults to study at a higher level by offering them a significant subsidy to the cost of the course. There is also an enhanced support for learners whilst on the programme through Career Learning Pilot. These include:
- A dedicated and engaged work coach to provide support through the course
- Support with transportation and childcare costs
- Support with additional training needs in programme completion
- Relevant courses like accountancy and teacher training

She currently plans to study a degree in nursing, and she comments, “Right from the start the tutors were friendly and helpful, and the social life at the college is great.”
For over ten years, South Devon College has assisted people in climbing the professional ladder, with a wide range of professional courses to develop and enhance the skills and expertise of learners, enabling them to make a positive impact in their workplace.
The next South Devon College’s open event for interested applicants occurs on Wednesday, November 21, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Paignton Campus, Long Road, Paignton.
