Michele Campagnaro, a 25-year-old Italian rugby union player currently playing as a centre for Exeter Chiefs in the English Premiership, has been released to play for Italy.
Leaving Benetton and joining Exeter Chiefs in the summer of 2015, he possesses a solid record while playing for the Devon side. In 27 matches, he has scored nine tries and helped his club to win the Premiership title in the 2016 to 2017 season.
Exeter Chiefs play Newcastle Falcons in the Premiership Rugby Cup this weekend at Kingston Park, and this may be his final appearance before leaving on October 31.
Campagnaro has gained a prized opportunity to captain his country for the first time, as they face Ireland in Chicago on November 3 at Soldier Field.
