Dorset Hospice Earns Continued Support from the Prince of Wales

Located in Dorchester, the Joseph Weld Hospice gained the resumed commitment from His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales.

HRH Prince of Wales visited the hospice during its launch in 1994, and since then has continually visited the patients and staff, offering his support.

Joseph Weld Hospice operates as Weldmar Hospicecare’s 14-bedded inpatient unit in Dorchester. As the largest independent charity in Dorset, Weldmar Hospicecare provides end of life care for people in the country who need specialist support.

The Chief Executive of the Dorset hospice comments, “We are honoured and privileged that The Prince of Wales has kindly agreed to continue as the Patron of Weldmar Hospicecare. We always look forward to his visits because they mean so much to patients and staff alike and we appreciate the interest he shows in our work. Next year, we are proud to celebrate 25 years of providing Hospicecare throughout Dorset and we are delighted that His Royal Highness has kindly agreed to continue supporting our work.”

January 26 marks their 25-year anniversary with plans of a thanksgiving service at Milton Abbey.
