  • The Jazz Café at Sandbanks have a roaring fire which is the best way to keep warm after a walk on the beach, it also has an impressive library. This café is popular for its hot chocolate topped with whipped cream, a chocolate flake and marshmallows perfect for cold winter days. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
  • With its history going as far back as the 16th century, The Castle Inn at Lulworth is regarded as a “traditional Dorset pub”. It is located close to Lulworth Cove and is a great spot to relax after exploring the Jurassic Cove. It is said to have great food.
  • The Bankes Arms Inn at Studland is a “country pub by the sea”. Built with local quarried stones, it dates back to the 16th century. It has two open fires constantly blazing through the winter months and candle lit tables.
  • The New Inn at Church Knowle is a village inn located in the rolling Purbeck Hills. It has a log and coal fire in the main bar and two large inglenook fireplaces in the restaurant at either end.
  • Dating back to the 1600’s is The Royal Oak at Fritham. It is a quaint thatched cottage with 19th-century red-brick additions. Dog walkers and cyclists are welcome and the open fire here is amazing.
