The yearly Western Morning News Business Awards is about to name the winner of the Young Business Person of the Year category. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Plymouth on the 22nd of November.
The three finalists in this category are bright, young individuals of Devon and Cornwall who have shown that flair, business acumen and determination will always pay off in the end.
They are sponsored by Cornwall College Business and their achievements this year are profiled from cutting edge marketing to drone film making.
Becky Veater, Elixel.
She is 28 years old and is a co-founder of a digital creative agency called Elixel. Since her final year in the university, she has started and grown the company in many ways. She takes on many roles within the company, is a member of the Plymouth tech community and founding member of Women In Stem in Plymouth (WISP) and Digital Plymouth.
Tom Wadsworth 23, Bad Wolf Horizon.
Bad Wolf Horizon was founded by 17 year old Tom Wadsworth. It has grown and become widely known in the UK and today has launched a new set of drone live streaming services, under the name Aerostream, the first of its kind in the UK.
Katherine George, Oh So Social
She is 29 and the founder of marketing agency, Oh So Social. Katherine is a successful marketing specialist. She has contributed to the success of large campaigns like The Man Engine Tour, and is a Facebook chosen social media mentor for female entrepreneurs across Devon and Cornwall.
